Assistant Merchandiser

About the role

The Assistant Merchandiser ensures that products appear in the right store at the right time and in the right quantity. You will work closely with the merchandise planning and buying teams to optimise product range, profitability and commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Retail Pro reports, Sell‑Thru and other merchandising reports such as consolidation sheets and product‑breakdown reports.
• Liaise with stores, logistics and warehouse departments to ensure product supply meets demand.
• Analyze every aspect of best and worst sellers, including price points, colours and styles.
• Analyse previous season’s sales and report on the current season’s lines.
• Optimise the volume and profitability of product categories.
• Gather information on customer reactions towards the products.
• Coordinate with the buying team on product issues (orders, repeats, damages) and assist in range planning, sales analysis and deliveries.
• Prepare merchandise plans and information required for product‑range presentations and reviews for buyers/brand managers.
• Report competition’s offerings and analyse opportunities for the brand team.
• Skillfully manage processing of various Retail Pro reports and invoices.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all necessary reports and records.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all entrusted documents.
• Work closely with the Merchandise Planning team to maximise commercial opportunities and achieve the right product mix at sub‑category and price‑point levels.
