Assistant Nurse - Pre Anesthesia Clinic

About the role

The Assistant Nurse in the Pre‑Anesthesia Clinic provides patient‑centered nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role supports patients through assessment, daily living activities and monitoring, ensuring safety and comfort before anesthesia.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RN with patient assessments, interventions and evaluations in the Pre‑Anesthesia Clinic.
• Support patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding and mobility.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and pain levels; report changes to the RN.
• Remove peripheral IV lines as instructed and assist with routine procedures like blood draws.
• Maintain accurate documentation, uphold infection‑control protocols and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Communicate patient status to the healthcare team and provide information to patients and families.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Diploma of Nursing (minimum 18‑month program).
• Current and valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) nursing license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Knowledge of nursing standards, infection control and quality‑improvement processes.
