Assistant Technician – FM Civil & Furniture Painter

About the role

The Assistant Technician – FM Civil & Furniture Painter will support preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance for civil works and furniture painting at Dubai Airports. Working either independently or within a technical team, the role ensures minimal disruption to airport operations while maintaining high safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and follow civil works drawings, schematics and layout plans.
• Conduct inspections to assess painting needs and prepare surfaces by cleaning, repairing holes and removing old paint.
• Mix, match and apply paints and finishes to indoor and outdoor walls, gypsum walls, wooden claddings and various furniture items.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and breakdown maintenance tasks safely.
• Use painting and decorating hand and power tools in accordance with local and international standards.
• Comply with all general and technical safety requirements at all times.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or duty engineer.

Required profile

• Industrial Training Institute Certificate or Diploma (2‑year) in painting and decorating or equivalent.
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience in facility management, civil works or a similar environment.
• Airport experience is an advantage.
• Current valid UAE driving licence is desirable.
