Assistant Technician – FM Plumbing

About the role

VIVO Defence Services is seeking an Assistant Technician for FM Plumbing to support preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance of plumbing systems at Dubai Airports. You will work either independently or as part of a technical team, ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on plumbing pipework, equipment and systems.
• Interpret pipework schematics and system layout drawings.
• Set up and use test equipment such as manometers, water pressure test kits, digital multimeters and drain cleaning machines.
• Apply local and international plumbing and pipework standards and regulations.
• Maintain assets including pumps, pressure vessels, oil interceptors, backflow preventer assemblies, faucets, fixtures, water heaters and toilet appliances.
• Carry out inspections, condition assessments and condition‑based maintenance.

Required profile

• Industrial Training Institute Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years experience in pipe fitting or air‑conditioning.
• Ability to work safely and comply with all health, safety and welfare requirements.
• Willingness to perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors or duty engineers.

Required skills

• Manometer operation.
• Water pressure test kit – dry and wet.
• Digital multimeter (earth bond continuity).
• Drain cleaning machine.
• Reading and interpreting pipework schematics and system layout drawings.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Understanding of local and international plumbing & pipework standards.
• Hands‑on maintenance of pumps, pressure vessels, oil interceptors, backflow preventer assemblies, faucets, fixtures, water heaters and toilet appliances.
• Water heater servicing and repair.
• Sump pump servicing and repair.
• Sewer and drain line cleaning.
• Faucet and fixture repair and installation.
• Installation, repair and maintenance of pipes, valves, fittings and drainage systems.
• Functionality checks on pressure vessels and pump overhauling.
