Associate Director - Planning

About the role

Mace is delivering a large‑scale, next‑generation digital infrastructure programme in Abu Dhabi, partnering with a leading data‑centre developer. The Associate Director – Planning will lead planning and scheduling activities for complex, mission‑critical projects, applying global best practice in programme, project and commercial management.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on complex project requirements, analyse issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead planning and scheduling for medium‑ to high‑complexity projects and programmes.
• Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM) and broader project‑control methodologies to drive performance.
• Communicate with clients, project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Develop robust plans, interpret trends using numerical and statistical techniques, and support decision‑making.
• Assist senior leadership with negotiations, contract development, due diligence and business‑development activities.
• Collaborate on net‑zero carbon initiatives, managing associated emissions and reductions during delivery.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in construction, programme, project or commercial management.
• Working towards chartered status with a recognised professional body.
• Solid grounding in the full development lifecycle, preferably with client‑side experience.
• Experience working in the United Arab Emirates is essential for client approval.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of schedule management tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) and project‑control techniques.
