Associate Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Associate Electrical Engineer will support the design and analysis of electrical systems for oil and gas projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will apply basic engineering principles to deliver routine design tasks and contribute to project deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Follow company procedures, work instructions, and standards.
• Perform detailed design engineering, calculations, and analysis for basic tasks.
• Prepare clear design calculations, reports, and procedures.
• Generate power distribution calculations, consumer lists, and equipment sizing.
• Create electrical one‑line diagrams and populate the SPEL database.
• Produce sketches and requisition simple bulk materials.
• Communicate progress and issues to the Lead Engineer.
• Develop awareness of project costs and MDR business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 0‑3 years of experience in oil and gas or related industry.
• Preferably a Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or member of a professional engineering society.
• Willingness to learn standards, codes, and design techniques.

Required skills

• Electrical design and power distribution calculations.
• Use of SPEL electrical database.
• Creation of electrical one‑line diagrams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
