Associate Lawyer – Construction & Infrastructure (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

This position offers a motivated lawyer the chance to build long‑term relationships with high‑profile clients in Abu Dhabi, focusing on a key institutional client in the oil and gas sector. You will work within a dynamic construction practice, advising on UAE and English law across a variety of EPC, infrastructure and development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, advise on, negotiate and prepare construction contract documentation, including FIDIC standard forms, consultancy agreements and ancillary security documents.
• Provide strategic contract advisory on live Gulf projects, identifying and mitigating risks and interpreting contractual provisions.
• Collaborate with in‑house legal and project‑management teams to align legal advice with commercial and operational objectives.
• Support the development and mentoring of trainees and paralegals.
• Contribute to thought‑leadership through legal research, client briefings and article publication.
• Build and maintain client relationships, participate in marketing initiatives and deliver client training seminars.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Law degree from a recognised university (minimum 2:1).
• Experience advising on the full lifecycle of major construction and infrastructure projects.
• Fluent English with strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Can‑do, hardworking and flexible attitude.
