Associate Process Engineer

About the role

The Associate Process Engineer will support the engineering team by applying established process procedures to solve routine problems. Working under close supervision, the role offers hands‑on experience in basic design, analysis, and documentation for process projects within McDermott's Dubai operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design calculations, prepare design reports and procedures for simple engineering tasks.
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagram (PFD) sketches and initial P&IDs for basic systems.
• Assist in heat and material balance (H&MB) development and equipment sizing calculations.
• Compile equipment lists, input process data on instrument data sheets, and support material selection documentation.
• Review material take‑offs (MTOs), monitor cost awareness, and keep the Area Lead and Lead Engineer informed of progress.
• Utilize standard productivity tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to produce clear documentation.

Required profile

• Graduated in Chemical, Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• Ability to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, and meet deadlines set by senior engineers.
• Basic understanding of process design basis, standards, and inter‑disciplinary project requirements.
• Willingness to develop knowledge of McDermott’s business units and customer base.
