Athletics Officer – Recreation

About the role

The Athletics Officer – Recreation will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of varsity and recreational sports programmes for RIT Dubai students. This role ensures that all athletics activities are aligned with the student experience strategy and are executed efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and assess recreational sport programmes that attract broad student and staff participation.
• Plan and coordinate leagues, tournaments, sports‑day events and active‑lifestyle initiatives throughout the academic year.
• Design inclusive programmes for students of varying abilities, interests and backgrounds.
• Monitor participation data, collect feedback and recommend improvements.
• Provide administrative support to student sports clubs, ensuring compliance with university policies and financial procedures.
• Build partnerships with national federations, local clubs and community organisations.
• Manage equipment inventory, maintain facilities and ensure safe use of training equipment.
• Maintain and communicate the athletics calendar, schedule activities and respond to related queries.
• Promote health, fitness and participation in athletics across the campus community.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation Management, Physical Education, Sports Administration, Leisure Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in sports programme development, club administration or recreation management.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
