AVP – Control & Governance (Global Markets Middle Office)

About the role

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Control & Governance will support the GM Middle Office Control & Governance function at First Abu Dhabi Bank. The role is responsible for executing and monitoring first‑line control activities across Global Markets Middle Office processes, ensuring discipline, timely escalation of exceptions and accurate evidence management.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day control monitoring for trade controls, risk monitoring, reconciliations, exceptions, breaks and lifecycle events.
• Maintain control evidence, track aged items and provide high‑quality escalations.
• Perform trading permissions checks, booking template reviews, off‑market monitoring and counter‑party exposure monitoring.
• Support internal and Islamic trade booking controls, settlement‑fail monitoring and reconciliation checks.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Global Markets Operations, Product Control, Market Risk, Finance, Compliance, Technology, Credit, Reference Data and regional teams to resolve issues and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Prepare and deliver control governance reporting and KPI/KRI inputs.
• Coordinate with peers in Collateral Management and Reporting and support Specialists as required.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in control and governance within Global Markets Middle Office or similar banking environment.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, risk monitoring and reconciliation processes.
• Ability to work under direction of VP & Head of GM MO Control & Governance and interact with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities.
