AVP & Lead, Credit Management

About the role

The Assistant Vice President & Lead, Credit Management will enable assessment and credit decisions for credit facilities and mortgage loans, ensuring delivery within agreed service level agreements. The role oversees underwriting quality, risk mitigation and team performance to support the bank’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze high‑ticket self‑employed and rental‑backed mortgage proposals.
• Manage and coach the underwriting team to meet performance and quality standards.
• Maintain underwriting standards, prudent delegation of authority usage and compliance with policies.
• Minimize credit risk through thorough risk reviews and timely CAS approvals.
• Ensure SLA turnaround time compliance and resolve quality checks.
• Lead automation and efficiency initiatives and support system changes.
• Prepare and present credit memos for high‑ticket cases, documenting risks and mitigants.
• Define goals, KPIs and implement performance management for the Credit Secured Products department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or a related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of relevant banking experience, including at least 3 years in a similar credit management role.
• Proven experience in team and process management within a banking environment.
