AWS Data Engineer – Cloud Data Platform

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, build and maintain enterprise‑scale data platforms that support corporate and investment banking operations. The role focuses on modern cloud‑based architectures using AWS services to ensure data is scalable, secure and high‑performing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate scalable data platforms on AWS, including data lakes and data warehouses.
• Build and optimise data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data using ETL/ELT processes.
• Implement and manage solutions with Amazon Redshift, Athena and Apache Iceberg.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security and performance across the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with business, analytics and engineering teams to support data‑driven initiatives.
• Optimise query performance, storage efficiency and platform scalability.
• Automate monitoring, troubleshooting and operational excellence of data services.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience.
• Strong background in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience in corporate or financial services is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT or related field.
