Backend Developer

About the role

PCS Gulf is seeking a Backend Developer to design and build advanced, scalable APIs on Azure. The role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions and modernising existing projects for the Azure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable APIs using Azure services.
• Interpret business requirements and map them to the latest Azure features.
• Act as a technical consultant for team members.
• Modernise legacy codebases to be Azure‑compatible.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to understand end‑user needs.
• Integrate with other backend services using JSON, XML, and third‑party APIs.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Write unit tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
• Review and update code written by other developers.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience with SQL Server T‑SQL or Cosmos DB.
• At least 3 years of professional Node.js development.
• 2+ years of experience implementing microservices (preferred).
• Experience working with third‑party libraries and APIs.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is highly preferred.
• .NET experience in addition to Node.js is a plus.
