Backend Engineer – Intelligent Transport Systems (UAE)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join a UAE‑based project focused on intelligent transport systems and smart city technologies. The role combines software integration work with on‑site technical support in a real‑world project environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support integration of software systems, communication networks and ITS‑related infrastructure within project environments.
• Assist in system testing, validation and deployment to ensure effective implementation of technical solutions.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, drawings and system configurations to support accurate execution of project requirements.
• Participate in on‑site support activities, including troubleshooting, system checks and resolving technical issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and alignment across deliverables.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with project standards and client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (ITS, Communications, Network Engineering, Software Engineering).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ITS, systems integration or related technical fields.
• Good understanding of network systems, communication protocols and software/system integration concepts.
• Exposure to traffic systems, smart mobility or smart city infrastructure is an advantage.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work in a project‑driven environment.
• Willingness to support both office‑based and field/site activities.
• Excellent documentation, reporting and coordination abilities.
