Backend Engineer

About the role

AlgoDriven is expanding its Dubai engineering hub and is looking for a Backend Engineer to own and deliver AI‑driven SaaS features for the automotive sector. You will work on high‑volume data services, guide AI coding agents from specification to production, and ensure reliable, performant back‑end systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and monitor backend features end‑to‑end, writing clear specs for AI agents.
• Drive AI coding agents through the full development pipeline and continuously improve the tooling.
• Debug production issues, optimise performance and resolve data problems.
• Work deeply with MySQL – query optimisation, indexing, migrations and large‑table handling.
• Build and scale services on AWS, using Docker and CI pipelines.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and mentor junior team members as the team grows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong expertise in both PHP and Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑driven development workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, MCP servers).
• Proven ability to tune MySQL performance and debug live systems.
• Currently residing in the UAE (visa sponsorship available).
