Boilermaker Mechanic – Boiler Welding & Repair

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker Mechanic to join our service team in North Carolina. The successful candidate will perform welding, boiler re‑tubing, equipment installation, and code‑compliant repairs on industrial boilers and related pressure‑vessel systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct TIG, MIG, and Stick welding, as well as oxygen cutting and brazing of copper piping.
• Fit and fabricate pipe, perform boiler re‑tubing, and install boiler equipment according to ASME and NBIC standards.
• Prepare boilers for inspection, remove and replace tubes, and execute refractory repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with Quality Control, Service Coordination, engineering, and sales teams to deliver timely service contracts.
• Participate in factory training and pass welding certification tests under Icon Boiler’s code program.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in boiler service, repair, or mechanical operations.
• Certified in the 6G welding position (ASME certification desirable).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work overtime as needed.
