Branch Accountant – Automotive Finance

About the role

The Branch Accountant will support day‑to‑day finance operations at an automotive dealership, ensuring accurate accounting, timely transaction processing and compliance with internal policies. You will work closely with the branch and finance teams to review, document and reconcile all financial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily branch transactions such as invoices, receipts, customer collections and vendor payments.
• Validate vehicle deal documentation, pricing and discount requests, ensuring proper approvals.
• Monitor cash collections, bank deposits and petty‑cash balances and perform reconciliations.
• Prepare and follow up on reconciliations for customer accounts, vendor balances and petty cash.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, including accruals, provisions and journal entries.
• Track branch operating expenses, purchase orders and supplier invoices to identify overspending or miscoding.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, delegation of authority, internal controls and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in accounting, branch finance or high‑volume transactional finance.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and dealership finance operations.
