Budget and Cost Controller

About the role

The Budget and Cost Controller will coordinate, consolidate and ensure timely production of joint and associated venture budgets, including original and spring forecasts. The role supports shareholders and venture companies by delivering accurate financial information and supervising budget‑related activities across divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor expenditure variances against budget limits, investigate over‑runs and under‑runs, and prepare mandatory reports for shareholders and management.
• Prepare consolidated fixed‑asset and depreciation schedules and respond to internal and external auditor queries.
• Direct and supervise personnel involved in preparing capital and operating budgets for company divisions.
• Coordinate with financial controllers to develop original and spring‑forecast budgets for main joint and associated ventures, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
• Collect and consolidate input from user departments into a single budget report and support budget presentations with summaries, dry runs and variance analysis.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and final accounts preparation for joint and associated ventures.
• Maintain and update the company fixed‑asset register for new and existing projects.
• Control capital commitments and expenditures for major maintenance works, reviewing financial statements and authorizations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting and fixed‑asset management within a large organization.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate a team of budget‑preparation staff.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor variances, investigate anomalies and provide corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with shareholders, auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with company budgeting procedures and financial controls.
