Building and Grounds Officer

About the role

The International School of Choueifat – DIP is seeking a Building and Grounds Officer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of school facilities and grounds. The role ensures that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and SABIS® standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise school operations, maintenance services, security, and implementation of new programs or processes such as facility utilization and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect new construction, repair work, grounds, special projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance, and supplies to ensure efficient project completion.
• Research new products, recommend purchases, and maintain a wide range of services.
• Respond to maintenance-related inquiries from stakeholders, providing information or directing to appropriate personnel.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to avoid equipment problems and defects.
• Plan work assignments and actively supervise grounds‑keeping services to keep school grounds attractive and well‑kept.
• Inspect grounds personnel work, enforce standards, and coordinate training on safe tool and equipment operation.
• Ensure a safe campus environment by removing obstacles and checking facilities such as toilets, lighting, broken glass, AC temperature, gym equipment, and swimming‑pool chlorine levels.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, AC maintenance, electrical surveys and repairs, plumbing, renovations, and fire‑extinguisher checks.
• Establish and maintain a maintenance request procedure and schedule preventive maintenance for ACs, lifts, pumps, and pool filters.
