Business Development Manager – Wire Rod Division

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Wire Rod Division will drive growth of our wire rod portfolio across key steel‑consuming sectors such as construction, manufacturing and downstream applications. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will act as a technical and commercial liaison, positioning the company as a trusted partner.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute market‑development plans for wire rod products targeting priority customer segments and applications.
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, processors, fabricators, contractors, consultants and other industry stakeholders.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences and technical seminars.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, competitor activity and emerging applications.
• Translate insights into product, service and business‑development opportunities.
• Generate a qualified pipeline of opportunities, create value propositions and business cases for high‑potential prospects.
• Collaborate with the sales team to convert leads into commercial contracts, supporting presentations, proposals, product trials and negotiations.
• Monitor opportunity progress and proactively address obstacles to ensure successful conversion.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within the steel, metal or related industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of wire rod applications, technical challenges and commercial priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to analyse market data and develop actionable growth strategies.
