Business Development Officer - SME - Sales

About the role

The Business Development Officer – SME – Sales will drive new business banking relationships, source current accounts and generate fee income across multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Source new business banking current accounts.
• Ensure accounts are funded according to KPI expectations.
• Generate fee income from foreign exchange, trade, bancassurance and deposits.
• Prospect targeted markets through phone calls and face‑to‑face visits.
• Present and sell all business banking products and services in an ethical, structured and professional manner.
• Achieve monthly sales targets throughout the financial year.
• Maintain and develop customer relationships to enhance cross‑sell opportunities.
• Adhere to the bank’s KYC and AML policies during onboarding.
• Conduct micro‑marketing activities, including participation in business banking events and direct marketing.
• Handle objections to increase take‑up rates.
• Record all sales activities in daily reports and update the CRM with leads and contacts.
• Participate in team activities such as morning huddles, training, compliance and fraud trainings, and reward celebrations.
