About the role
The Calibration Manager will lead calibration and inspection activities, ensuring they meet both company and customer requirements while adhering to established procedures, standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and lead calibration and inspection activities in line with company and customer requirements, ensuring compliance with procedures, standards and guidelines.
- Manage departmental budget, monitor spend versus budget, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement calibration and metrology policies, standards, processes and procedures.
- Plan, schedule and execute preventive maintenance programmes for all equipment and tools according to international, manufacturer and company standards.
- Collaborate with Sales to prepare quotations, bids and tenders, providing technical advice as needed.
- Record calibration results, produce detailed reports describing methodology and present findings appropriately.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors for calibration‑related purchases to secure cost‑effective deals.
- Conduct technical evaluations of equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and operational requirements.
- Investigate recurring equipment issues, identify gaps and recommend or perform remedial solutions.
- Manage spares and consumables inventory, ensuring timely replenishment to meet operational needs.
- Oversee vendor installations, confirming adherence to technical and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, including QHSSE, using company policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Instrumentation Engineering preferred.
- Minimum seven years of experience in calibration and metering, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
