Cardiopulmonary Assistant

About the role

The Cardiopulmonary Assistant provides non‑clinical technical and clerical support to the Cardiopulmonary Department at American Hospital Dubai. The role ensures equipment, supplies and documentation are ready for patient care while complying with JCIA and DHA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, calibrate, disinfect and monitor cardiopulmonary and respiratory equipment, including ventilators, ABG analyzers and oxygen delivery systems.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies, track expiration dates, and order replacements through the Service Requisition Software.
• Perform daily environmental and safety rounds, report issues, and ensure clean and tidy patient care areas.
• Assist front‑desk staff with patient registration, billing inquiries and telephone calls as needed.
• Document equipment repairs, conduct monthly preventive maintenance reviews and support Key Performance Improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of clerical and technical experience in a hospital, clinic or medical supply environment.
• High school graduate with strong knowledge of patient care processes and equipment handling.
• Physical ability to lift or move medical supplies or equipment weighing up to 20 kg.

Required skills

• Equipment inventory management and tracking using Service Requisition Software.
• Cleaning, disinfection and routine calibration of cardiopulmonary medical devices.
• Processing patient medical billing and supporting front‑desk operations.
