Cargo Assistant

About the role

The Cargo Assistant supports the quality control and operational efficiency of cargo products and solutions. You will work closely with cargo officers and handling agents to ensure safe, compliant, and optimal loading of shipments on assigned aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute loading of cargo into ULDs or bulk, maximizing aircraft capacity while adhering to priority directives.
• Coordinate with handling agents to meet flight operational requirements and manage transshipments.
• Verify that cargo is loaded according to the load plan, maintaining aircraft safety and product quality standards.
• Enter bookings in the SFIV system and ensure shipments are flown as scheduled.
• Assist in resolving claims and discrepancies by liaising with relevant authorities and departments.
• Perform delegated administrative, operational, and promotional tasks to enhance profitability.
• Prepare data entry, statistics, and reports as directed by the Cargo Supervisor/Officer.
• Provide operational support, including coverage for freighter duties when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience in cargo handling or freight forwarding.
• Fluent oral and written English.
• Completed advanced courses in cargo acceptance, rating, IATA Dangerous Goods, and basic load control.

• Knowledge of airline cargo handling procedures.
• Proficiency with IATA Dangerous Goods regulations.
