Cargo Operations Agent

About the role

Emirates SkyCargo is seeking a Cargo Operations Agent to oversee the efficient handling and processing of cargo, courier and mail within a designated warehouse/airside area. You will lead a team, ensure compliance with safety and security standards, and support the company’s global trade network.

Key responsibilities

• Direct a team in cargo, courier and mail handling while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency standards.
• Provide safety briefings and monitor compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and EU GDP requirements.
• Inspect, verify and count goods at each stage of delivery, acceptance, breakdown and build‑up, updating shipment details in Skychain.
• Liaise with customs, health and police authorities to facilitate timely cargo movement.
• Plan and load cargo into ULDs according to priority, volume and aircraft payload, optimizing capacity utilization.
• Validate deviations from planned uplift requirements and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect ULDs and ancillary equipment, report defects and ensure equipment longevity.
• Monitor cargo irregularities, initiate preventive or corrective measures, and manage claim costs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in an air cargo or logistics environment.
• Strong awareness of safety and security protocols.
• Ability to communicate effectively with government authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Understanding of EU Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.
• Proficiency with the Skychain cargo tracking system.
• Experience handling Unit Load Devices (ULD) and Air Waybill (AWB) processes.
