Carpenter – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join the Engineering team at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a five‑star beachfront hotel in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will ensure that guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities are kept to the highest standards of safety, functionality and luxury.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all carpentry‑related items throughout the hotel.
• Repair, install and maintain wooden doors, frames, windows, cabinets, wardrobes, shelving, furniture and fixtures.
• Carry out furniture restoration, minor upholstery repairs and decorative finish work.
• Install, repair and replace locks, hinges, door closers, handles and other hardware.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop in a clean and safe condition.
• Record completed work orders in the hotel’s maintenance management system and report material needs.
• Coordinate with engineering colleagues during renovation projects and emergency maintenance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in carpentry, joinery or hotel maintenance.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal disruption to guests.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow written instructions.
