Carpenter – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Carpenter will respond to guest repair requests, communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical equipment. The role involves a broad range of tasks from surface preparation and painting to basic plumbing, electrical, and landscaping repairs within the hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing and electrical items.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to the next shift.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting.
• Driver’s licence.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Carpentry and wood‑trim repair.
• Painting and minor drywall work.
• Basic plumbing (toilet plunging, drain unclogging).
• Electrical repair (lamps, switches, outlets, extension cords).
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Basic HVAC schedule input and temperature adjustments.
