Casualty Underwriter – Dubai

About the role

We are looking for a Casualty Underwriter to join AIG’s underwriting team in Dubai. You will support the team in underwriting, marketing, selling and promoting liability products, working with brokers, direct clients and business development managers.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new business production and manage renewal retention for liability products.
• Maintain casualty underwriting principles in line with corporate guidelines and profit goals.
• Develop strategic relationships with producers across GCC markets, especially Saudi Arabia.
• Provide sound underwriting decisions, price risks and monitor loss ratios.
• Identify and address poor‑performing accounts and provide feedback on renewals.
• Maintain broker and client relationships and generate new business from existing producers.
• Adhere to underwriting authority and guidelines as referenced on the AIG Casualty Intranet.
• Handle process‑oriented tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of underwriting experience, preferably in casualty or liability lines.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and corporate guidelines.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients in the GCC region.
• Flexibility in pricing risks to meet profit targets.
• Analytical mindset to monitor loss ratios and identify under‑performing accounts.
