Category Manager - FMCG

About the role

The Category Manager – FMCG will lead the Everyday Goods – Food category for GMG in Dubai. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing category business plans that drive revenue growth, market share and profitability across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual business plan, setting volume, value and sales targets in coordination with the Head of Category and National Sales.
• Translate category strategy into clear channel visions, objectives and go‑to‑market plans.
• Identify category issues related to sales and shopper behaviour and devise channel‑specific action plans.
• Design weighted and numeric distribution plans to achieve full‑universe coverage.
• Define and oversee distribution, promotion, merchandising, investment and pricing strategies for each trade channel.
• Grow category sales through effective channel programs while meeting KPIs for revenue, gross profit and real margin.
• Maximise ROI by setting smart objectives and managing spend plans.
• Own the category P&L, delivering targeted revenue, market share and profitability.
• Manage principal relationships through regular business reviews, joint planning and partnership meetings.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of the food business and FMCG distribution landscape.
• Proven experience in category management, business planning and P&L accountability.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and partnership building skills.
