Category Manager - Ground handling

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead the Ground Handling category. The role focuses on delivering best value through price, service quality, supply chain reliability and local content objectives while ensuring compliance with governance and policy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain category and sub‑category demand plans in collaboration with end users.
• Create and execute sourcing strategies, applying appropriate procurement levers and commercial options.
• Lead high‑value, complex sourcing projects from scope definition through contract award and post‑contract management.
• Negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings and optimal terms, incorporating total cost of ownership analyses.
• Manage supplier relationships for strategic vendors and support contract performance monitoring.
• Collaborate daily with the Procurement Operations Team to track planning and execution of sourcing transactions.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification; CIPS or equivalent professional certification is desirable.
• 5‑7 years of relevant experience in category management, procurement or supply chain within aviation or related sectors.
• Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and deliver measurable savings.
• Strong understanding of local content requirements and compliance standards.
