Chief Accountant

About the role

Accor is seeking a Chief Accountant for its Grand Mercure Dubai City hotel. The role will lead daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with hotel policies, and support the Financial Controller in implementing the hotel’s financial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting activities, mentor staff and maintain effective teamwork.
• Verify daily bank balances and credit‑card reconciliations for Finance Director approval.
• Ensure accuracy of the General Cashier report and timely bank deposits.
• Perform month‑end reconciliations of all general‑ledger balances and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Report variances to the Director of Finance and review monthly F&B and cost controller reports.
• Oversee tax payments and filings, resolving any discrepancies.
• Prepare ad‑hoc monthly management reports as required.
• Assist the Financial Controller with accounting policy application, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Maintain organized filing of accounting records and contracts for easy retrieval.
• Stay updated on new regulations and Accor internal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
