Chief Accountant

About the role

The premier high‑end catering establishment in Abu Dhabi seeks a Chief Accountant to lead its finance function. You will oversee full‑scope accounting, cash‑flow management, budgeting, and ensure compliance with UAE tax and payroll regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day general ledger operations, financial reporting and monthly closes.
• Track corporate cash flow, working capital, prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
• Ensure strict compliance with UAE VAT filing, Wage Protection System (WPS) payroll and local labor regulations.
• Lead internal controls, cost analysis for inventory and food production, and coordinate external audits.
• Serve as primary liaison with banks, tax authorities and external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5–8 years progressive accounting experience in catering, hospitality, restaurant or food‑production environments.
• Proven ability to manage cash flow, budgets and regulatory compliance in the UAE.
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
• Experience with Wage Protection System (WPS) payroll processing.
• Proficiency in hospitality‑specific accounting ERP systems.
• Advanced spreadsheet modeling and Excel expertise.
