Chief Accountant

About the role

The First Group Hospitality is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function for its portfolio of upscale hotels and restaurants in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, cash‑flow management and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with USALI and IFRS.
• Manage cash‑flow statements (direct and indirect methods) and analyse monthly cash positions.
• Oversee the annual financial year‑end audit and coordinate with external auditors.
• Lead the monthly close process, including trial balance, balance‑sheet and P&L review.
• Validate and approve journal vouchers, balance‑sheet schedules and reconciliation statements.
• Conduct property‑level P&L reviews and analytical performance assessments.
• Support property owners with financial queries and ensure timely dues.
• Identify control weaknesses, propose enhancements and implement best‑practice procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant from a recognised institution.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within the hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of USALI and IFRS.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
