Civil Inspector – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail‑oriented Civil Inspector to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety and compliance of roads, bridges and related infrastructure throughout the emirate.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of civil works, including roads, bridges and other infrastructure.
• Review contract documents, drawings and specifications to verify compliance.
• Supervise site activities and perform regular inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer.
• Monitor contractor performance against quality standards, safety regulations and project specifications.
• Prepare daily reports on progress, material deliveries and inspection findings.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve site issues promptly.
• Perform site measurements, surveying checks for pipe alignments and levels.
• Implement and maintain on‑site quality control procedures.
• Assist in preparing correspondence related to contract documents and site requirements.
• Monitor start‑up, commissioning and handover phases, maintaining records of milestones.
• Conduct audits to ensure conformity with contract documents and contractor‑submitted plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience on roads and infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in a supervisory inspection role.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Abu Dhabi.
