Clinical Resource Nurse – ICU

About the role

The Clinical Resource Nurse – ICU provides clinical leadership and ensures delivery of age‑appropriate, high‑quality patient care in the intensive care unit. Working as part of the nursing/midwifery leadership team, the role develops and implements practice standards, supports staff education, and aligns care with the organisation’s mission, vision and professional regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate clinical programmes and develop measurable performance criteria for nursing competence.
• Provide expert guidance to managers for problem‑solving and decision‑making.
• Promote a collaborative practice model and maintain accurate records of educational activities.
• Facilitate achievement of individual, departmental and organisational goals.
• Identify educational needs, design and deliver curriculum, and support staff in integrating new knowledge.
• Review nursing practice against best‑practice guidelines and implement necessary changes.
• Provide specialty‑specific orientation and participate in organisational onboarding programmes.
• Contribute to efficient utilisation of human resources, consumables and equipment.

Required profile

• Registered nurse (or midwife) with current licence from the relevant regulatory body.
• Significant experience in ICU nursing and demonstrated leadership ability.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing clinical practice standards and education programmes.
• Strong analytical skills to assess programme effectiveness and staff competence.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
