Cluster Chief Engineer

About the role

The Cluster Chief Engineer will lead engineering and maintenance operations across two luxury hotel properties in Dubai, ensuring all facilities, equipment and building systems operate safely, efficiently and to brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering operations across both hotel properties.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire and life‑safety systems.
• Conduct regular property inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and asset replacement programmes.
• Manage engineering budgets, CAPEX projects, contracts and annual maintenance agreements.
• Lead energy‑conservation and sustainability initiatives to optimise electricity, water and utility consumption.
• Oversee renovations, refurbishments, technical projects and coordinate contractors and suppliers.
• Recruit, train, coach and develop the engineering team while promoting safety and performance culture.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of engineering experience, preferably in luxury or upscale hospitality.
• 3–5 years in a senior engineering leadership role such as Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.
• Multi‑property or cluster engineering experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/Dubai regulatory and safety requirements.
• Proven experience in budgeting, CAPEX, project management and contractor management.
