CNC Machinist – Hankook Protec 9NC Specialist

About the role

The CNC Machinist will operate and program CNC lathes, primarily the Hankook Protec 9NC, to produce components for oil and gas projects. The role requires strict adherence to QHSE policies, accurate interpretation of work orders, and timely delivery of high‑quality parts.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, program and operate CNC lathes (Hankook Protec 9NC, Doosan 800, Doosan 400) according to work orders and manufacturer instructions.
• Visually inspect cutting tools and materials, replace tools as needed, and report any defects to the Workshop Supervisor.
• Maintain safe machine operation, follow housekeeping standards, and comply with QHSE procedures.
• Coordinate with QC Inspectors after each job and ensure proper hand‑over at shift changes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Detect and correct machining malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions by adjusting machine controls.
• Perform dimensional checking of components using precision measuring equipment.
• Carry out general workshop housekeeping and assist with maintenance tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience working with CNC lathes, including at least 3 years on the Hankook Protec 9NC.
• Trade Machinist qualification preferred; matriculation certificate acceptable.
• Experience in API equipment manufacture, API threading, and premium threading is desirable.
• Ability to work in an industrial workshop environment and travel across the Middle East/GCC as required.

Required skills

• Programming Fanuc 21i‑TB and Fanuc 32i Model B controls.
• Operation of Hankook Protec 9NC, Doosan 800 and Doosan 400 CNC lathes.
• Use of precision measuring equipment for dimensional checking.
• Proficiency with CNC lathe setup, tool alignment, and fixture selection.
• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
