Commercial Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to own the contractual and commercial performance of a major Oil & Gas EPC project in Abu Dhabi. The role is strategic, focusing on protecting contractor entitlement, maximizing commercial recovery, and delivering the final account with the targeted margin.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all contractual and commercial administration across contractor, consortium/EPC partner, client, PMC, subcontractor and supplier interfaces.
• Manage contract obligations, notices, variations, claims, counter‑claims, back‑charges and final‑account strategies.
• Identify and substantiate entitlement from scope changes, delays, acceleration measures, access constraints and compensable events.
• Negotiate and settle variations, claims and disputed items, working closely with Project Controls.
• Own commercial forecasting – revenue, cost‑to‑complete, estimate at completion, cash flow, commitments and final‑margin outlook.
• Review subcontractor applications, variations and claims to prevent commercial leakage.
• Chair commercial review meetings and provide executive‑level reporting on risks, opportunities and recovery actions.
• Mentor Quantity Surveyors and commercial team members to ensure consistent measurement and valuation.

Required profile

• Extensive contractor‑side experience on large EPC projects, preferably in Oil & Gas.
• Proven track record in claims management and commercial recovery.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a complex, multi‑party environment.
