Commercial Manager

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead all contractual and commercial activities for building projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and administer contracts, negotiating terms with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance.
• Prepare and review claims, variations, and change orders.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project teams.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, payments, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve disputes.
• Prepare reports on commercial performance for senior management.
• Ensure timely invoicing, payment collection, and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, law or a related field.
• Proven experience in contract management and commercial roles within building projects.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC or other standard construction contracts.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
