About the role

The Commis 1 supports the kitchen team at Le Méridien Dubai by preparing meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth service during busy periods. This full‑time, onsite position is essential for delivering the high standards expected in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; pull and thaw frozen items safely.
• Maintain accurate food logs, monitor portion sizes, and ensure proper garnish and arrangement.
• Communicate assistance needs, inform the Chef of excess items, and update service staff on menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
• Follow all safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance issues and incidents.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as needed.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
• At least 3 years of relevant food‑service or kitchen experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lb, and performing repetitive kitchen tasks.

• Food preparation and cooking according to standardized recipes.
