About the role

Join the new French concept at Jumeirah Al Qasr as a Commis 1, supporting the culinary team in delivering high‑quality dishes in a luxury resort setting.

Key responsibilities

• Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications provided by the Demi Chef or Chef de Partie.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, ensuring correct temperature settings.
• Follow food safety and hygiene practices, handling, storing and disposing of food items according to standards.
• Set up stations with necessary par stocks, maintain cleanliness and perform food preparation tasks assigned by the senior chef.
• Collaborate with the culinary team, attend daily briefings and support colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly and follow up on repairs to keep all equipment in good working order.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in various kitchen areas, preferably within luxury hospitality.
• College degree in Culinary Arts or a related accredited program.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment (braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
