Commis 1 – Pappas Production (Food & Beverage)

About the role

W Hotels is seeking a motivated Commis 1 to join the Pappas Production team on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. You will support the kitchen in preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth service during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration units and maintain accurate food logs.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and overall food quality.
• Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items, and excess food usage to chefs and service staff.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching of team members.
• Follow safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance needs and incidents.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• At least 3 years of relevant food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
