About the role

The Commis 1 – Pastry supports the pastry team at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, a 5‑star hotel in the heart of Business Bay. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a high‑volume, luxury environment, preparing a variety of pastry items for the hotel’s restaurants and banquets.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and prepare the workstation with all required mise en place before each service.
• Prepare, cook, and present pastry dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and equipment.
• Assist senior pastry chefs with plating, garnishing, and inventory control.

Required profile

• Passion for pastry arts and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced 5‑star hotel environment.
• Ability to work early shifts and stand for extended periods.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of pastry preparation techniques and mise en place.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
