Commis 2 – Staff Housing Kitchen

About the role

Marriott International is seeking a Commis 2 to support the Staff Housing Kitchen in Dubai. The position involves preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience in a high‑volume hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, wash, peel, and store fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Cook cold and hot foods, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality, and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain hygiene of all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Check temperature of appliances and food, and follow all safety, security, and company policies.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during a shift.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Willingness to reach overhead, bend, twist, and stoop as needed.
• Professional appearance and adherence to confidentiality and company asset protection.
• Clear and professional communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including portioning, chopping, washing, and peeling.
