About the role
Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Dubai is seeking a Commis to join its Food & Beverage team. The role involves preparing meals, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the kitchen during busy periods.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and monitor food quality and quantity.
- Pull frozen items for thawing, maintain food logs and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
- Communicate with chefs and service staff about specials, excess items and out‑of‑stock menu items.
- Assist with hiring, training and scheduling of kitchen staff as required.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school education.
- At least 3 years of relevant food‑service experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
Required skills
- Food preparation and cooking according to recipes.
- Temperature regulation of cooking equipment.
- Food safety logging and record‑keeping.
