Commis I – Culinary Assistant (Dubai)

About the role

The Commis I supports the culinary team at Sheraton The Walk Dubai, preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This full‑time, onsite role is ideal for candidates with solid food‑preparation experience who thrive in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and monitor food logs.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration, ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform chefs of excess or out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and uniform policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for extended periods and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification mentioned.
