Commis I – Employee Canteen (Hotel Kitchen)

About the role

Join the Employee Restaurant culinary team at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa as a Commis I. You will help prepare quality meals for resort staff, supporting the smooth operation of the employee canteen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and instructions.
• Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily food production.
• Prepare mise en place based on daily meal requirements.
• Check ingredients, ensure proper storage, and follow FIFO stock rotation.
• Monitor refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas.
• Maintain consistent food quality and portion control.
• Keep workstation, kitchen equipment, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health standards at all times.
• Assist other kitchen sections when needed.

Required profile

• Culinary qualification or relevant kitchen operations experience.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lb (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy culinary team.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
