About the role
The Commis I position supports the kitchen team at Marriott’s Myami & Bal Harbour outlets, preparing a variety of meals and ensuring food quality and safety standards are met.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes, presentation and food‑preparation checklists.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and manage thawing of frozen items in refrigeration units.
- Maintain food logs, monitor portion sizes, garnish presentation and overall food quality.
- Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food usage to chefs and service staff.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
- At least three years of related food‑preparation experience.
Required skills
- Food preparation and cooking following established recipes and quality standards.
- Operation of kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, broilers and roasters.
- Accurate food safety logging and portion control.
