Commis II – Cold Kitchen

About the role

The Commis II – Cold Kitchen supports the culinary team at Aloft Abu Dhabi by preparing and handling cold dishes, ensuring high standards of hygiene, quality, and presentation. This full‑time, on‑site position is ideal for candidates with basic culinary training who are eager to develop their skills in a vibrant hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Produce cold foods and assemble dishes following quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperature, test doneness, and maintain food safety records.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect tools, knives, surfaces and equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and ensure proper storage.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions and follow safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of related kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety standards and maintain a professional appearance.
• No supervisory experience required.
