Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The First Group Hospitality is seeking a Commis II to support the culinary team at its luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi. Working under the guidance of senior chefs, you will assist in preparing, producing and presenting dishes that meet the brand’s high standards of quality, consistency and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including washing, peeling, cutting, weighing, portioning, marinating and storing.
• Support mise en place for the assigned section before, during and after service.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, presentation guidelines and food‑quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure all utensils, equipment and supplies are ready.
• Check quality, freshness and storage conditions of ingredients and adhere to food‑storage, labeling, dating, stock‑rotation and temperature‑control procedures.
• Assist in food preparation for regular service, private functions, events and special requests.
• Collaborate closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Kitchen Steward, Stores and Food & Beverage teams.

• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards.
• Team‑player attitude with good communication with kitchen and service staff.
